Athenian Garden Information

If you're ever in the mood for some authentic Greek cuisine and you're in St. Petersburg, FL, Athenian Garden is the place to be. Tucked away at 6940 22nd Ave N, this cozy, unassuming spot offers a wonderful escape into the flavors of Greece, with a menu that showcases fresh ingredients and a vibrant blend of Mediterranean spices.

The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, making it perfect for anything from a casual lunch to a family dinner. There's something about the warm decor and friendly staff that makes you feel like you're dining in a little corner of Greece. The restaurant has a relaxed vibe, so whether you're coming in for a quick bite or planning to linger over a leisurely meal, you'll find the perfect spot.

One of the highlights of the menu is their variety of gyro options. The gyro meat is always perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection, with the perfect balance of crispy and juicy. The tzatziki sauce is a must-try - it’s cool, creamy, and packed with flavor, complementing the meat beautifully. If you’re in the mood for something a bit lighter, their salads are a great choice, especially the Greek salad. Fresh veggies, kalamata olives, and a generous helping of feta make it a refreshing and satisfying dish.

For something a bit more indulgent, the spanakopita (spinach pie) is hard to beat. It’s flaky, buttery, and filled with spinach and feta, making it a comfort food favorite that never disappoints. And don’t even get me started on their hummus - it’s creamy, garlicky, and perfect for dipping with warm pita bread. If you're a fan of classic Greek flavors, these are dishes you won’t want to miss.

Service at Athenian Garden is always friendly and efficient. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, and they’re more than happy to offer suggestions if you’re unsure about what to order. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, they make sure you feel like part of the family.

The portions here are generous, and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. It’s the kind of place where you can leave feeling full and satisfied, but not at all weighed down by heavy, greasy food.

If you're ever in the area, Athenian Garden is definitely worth checking out. The combination of great food, friendly service, and cozy ambiance makes it a standout spot in St. Petersburg’s food scene.

What a fantastic little neighborhood restaurant. The food and service is excellent. Try this instead of corporate America.

Dropped in here a few weeks ago after my haircut on a whim and got a nice little breakfast sandwich. Sourdough bread on it was awesome! Chef came out and greeted me himself.Nice ppl and good food, good enough for me to make sure I came back on my next haircut visit.Skip Chick-fil-a and support small business!

Whether you are looking for breakfast, brunch or lunch this hidden gem will satisfy your taste buds. They serve the biggest pancakes . Meatloaf sandwich was so tasty. Also don’t forget the red velvet cookies with chocolate chunks. Soft, chewy and delicious.

Tried this again since new owner...Very yummy food and reasonably priced. We will be back. The baked goods are a win. Lots of variety.

Delicious food, excellent service and amazing atmosphere. Love, love this restaurant. Our entire family is looking forward to Mother's Day brunch. Fit for a king, no work for the queen.

Mike and Cynthia and the whole staff are amazing! Mike made me biscuits and gravy the first time I came in and they weren’t even on the menu that day. He made them from scratch. Very personable. Super cool and will make you pretty much anything you want. Hes also a huge wrestling and metal fan. The whole staff is amazing and the ambiance is amazing. 38th Avenue Kitchen has no ties to the former restaurant. Give them a visit. You won’t regret. It They are open 7am to 3pm, Tuesday through Sunday.

I got breakfast here on a whim one random day and the food was admittedly really good and fairly priced. The server was also attentive and the owners seemed very hospitable. Unfortunately, I had a regrettable experience here, as this ignorant customer was having a loud conversation about the education system. They began saying less-than-positive things about teachers and then roped the owners into the discussion. It disappointed me as an educator to hear such negative statements from the community. I quietly finished my meal and left in peace but while the food was delicious, the entire encounter left a bad taste in my mouth.
